ABOUT SMB

Superior Music Boosters is a 501(c)(3) public charity based in Superior, Wisconsin, dedicated to keeping music alive and thriving in our local community. Everyone involved with SMB serves as an unpaid volunteer, and every dollar we raise is used responsibly—covering only essential operating costs while the overwhelming majority goes directly to supporting music education programs. Through volunteerism and generous financial giving, we proudly support elementary music education programs (K–6), band, orchestra, choir, and other musical opportunities that together reach more than 2,500 students across our schools and community.

Decades of peer-reviewed research confirm what we see every day: music education measurably strengthens cognitive skills, academic performance, and physical coordination. Beyond the research, music nourishes the mind, body, and soul—students who learn an instrument or lift their voice in song naturally want to perform, mentor their fellow musicians, and do it all again.
